Did the woman have two domiciles, destroyed on different dates...
or did the two photographers (assuming that Issam Kobeisi and
Hussein Malla aren't the same person) use the same woman to pose
for them? The consensus in blogs and on Usenet was for the latter.
The scar on her left cheek made it obvious that it was the same
woman in both pictures -- obvious enough so that even the least
sophisticated news consumer would have to face the fact that some
very emotionally wrenching scenes were the result of photojournalistic
high jinks.
